Well, I've continued to enjoy spring school. The incredibly enlightening lecture series on 1 John (the English say, one and two john, not 1st and 2nd..) has just finished. And now we're having lectures on "one and two timothy," deuteronomy, and some classes on discovering and using our spiritual gifts. I'm well excited about this upcoming week. Ephesus is NUTS!!
I'm also excited about my dad coming this week to visit for my birthday. It should be really cool. Hopefully the weather will be nice so we can do stuff. I think he's here in the UK right now visiting my missionary aunt and uncle.

Some cool things I've done recently:
A couple weeks ago I got up at 4:30 AM in the morning to go hike a hill from which we hoped to see the sunrise. It was, of course, very cloudy and we saw nothing...except a dead sheep. Then last week we did it again (rising even earlier allowing for the lengthening days) and the sunrise was absolutely brilliant! It was a great way to start the "prayer day" being held later. There's a cool video and great photos and my facebook.
I went to the Lake District again for part of our travel weekend. We went to Ambleside and walked from Windemere to Grassmere, reading Wordsworth's poems along the way. It rained very hard on the way there, but on our return the sky just opened up and the views from the hills were so beautiful, majestic, and green. As we passed Rydal Water on the way, I tried to write these lines (right now the rain has smudged the ink):

The gently sloped Prometheus
Was hardly felt alone
Though every rocky precipice,
Called him into his own.
His swollen bride were not remiss
To seal his base in rippling moan.

I did get to eat a satisfying ploughman's at a nice tea shop with funky 80s music, and I dove into Grassmere on our return. I was the only one, but the women I was walking with were happy to take pictures and laugh at me as I swam. Hopefully my dad will go swimming with me when I take him there.

On Sunday, when about 25 of us were hanging around the castle while everyone was still out traveling, there was no official service like they normally do at Capernwray. So I organized a devotional service for those who wanted to. It was kind of fun. We had worship music (badly played by me) with the help of a guitarist who knew what he was doing, someone shared a song, another a testimony, and I led a devotional based on some writings by Sadhu Sundar Singh. My roommate from Nepal was very excited to tell me how to pronounce his name. We also did this cool thing where we got into small groups and shared our favorite Bible verse with each other and why it's so important to us. That was really interesting. My group had some random ones too, but equally significant as, say, Proverbs 3:5-6. Mine is Psalm 73:25:

Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you.

Have a good day!
